John is a faceter, diamond setter and colored stone setter. His precisely cut colored stones are what set John's jewelry above others. COLORED GEMS
I am a member of the United States Faceters Guild and cut most of the colored stones used in my jewelry. All of the stones that I cut are for sale either loose or available to be set in jewelry. I also facet for hire and will cut your rough facet grade stones. DIAMONDS
Commercially cut diamonds are available in every grade to compliment my personally cut colored stones. I am a stone cutter and I facet all varieties of colored stones-- except -- I do not personally cut or re-cut diamonds. Diamonds are faceted in much the same way and using the same methods as that of their brethren colored stones. However diamond-cutting equipment is just a tab bit more industrial in size. Laps are 12” cast iron and turn at 10 times the revolutions per minute than the 8” laps used to cut colored stones. Mechanical claws hold the diamonds on the dop instead of bonded with glue. I use diamonds to accent my colored stones and purchase diamonds precut from diamond site holders and broker. I also have access to vast inventories of large cut graded diamonds for center stones.
